Essay 1 or Essay 2?

I have chose to revise essay 1. I believe my second draft of my essay is well organized and there are excellent points of why the document fails. There are some things that can be improved. It was the first essay we wrote for the class and I feel now I have more knowledge of what a well written technical document should include. As I state the failure points I need to expand on why those points make the document unsuccessful. There needs to be more expansion on why this particular technical document should be fun and exciting for viewers. Also, the contrast of the document needs to be improved and expanded on explaining why the contrast is so bad. Overall, I think essay 1 is a good choice to revise.

Creating Instructions

I decided to create instructions for baking peanut butter squares. I created the instructions while making the squares which I thought made it easier. The only real issue I had with creating the instructions was how much I should break the steps down. While writing them I thought they were too obvious but someone that has never made them before may need them to be very specific. I also did not know how I should really design the instructions. I created them in a straight down the page list with some images of each steps and the final product at the end. I wasn't sure if I should put them in a more fancy design or keep them the way I have them, plain and simple. Overall, the instructions were pretty simple to create.

Proposals

For our collaborative project Chris and I are working on proposals. After reading the section in our book about them I have learned that usually the starting point of a project starts off with a proposal. In writing a proposal you are trying to convince the reader that you have a good idea, a good implementation method, and experience to implement your idea. The writing in a proposal is ALL persuasive. The success of the proposal is determined by the effectiveness of the argument. In all proposals there is always standard sections that should be included, a summary, a main body, and attachments. There are also documents called progress reports that go along with proposals depending on how long the project covers. It lets the reader know what kind of progress is occurring throughout. For my major, community health, I could be writing a lot of grant proposals for programs to be implemented. I am glad we picked to present proposals so I can get more information on how to create a well rounded proposal.

Font and Color

This is my first post on the new blog! I have never used a blog before so it will definitely be a learning experience!

As for the use of font and color for my technical document, I thought the color and font were both poorly done. My technical document that I chose was an advertisement for a stress fair but it felt more stressful looking at the advertisement! It was on neon pink paper with black everything, from the borders, to the text. If the use of color was going to be used it should have been in the color that it was suppose to be or pick paper that went with the black and white. It seems very dark to me and uninviting. The font of the advertisement was all the same style font which I also did not like. It was a very boring text as well. Overall I thought the color and font style that was chosen for the technical document was very unappealing.
